About Us
At Homemade Indonesia, we believe in connecting Indonesia’s rich agricultural heritage with the world through transparency, sustainability, and innovation.
Founded in 2020 in Sumatra as a platform to empower traditional markets, we have since grown into Indonesia’s first Green Coffee Bean Marketplace, bridging farmers directly with buyers across the globe. Our mission is simple: to ensure farmers receive fair value for their hard work, while roasters and buyers gain access to traceable, high-quality beans.
Through our farm in Gayo and partnerships with neighboring farmers, we cultivate and source coffees that reflect the diversity of Indonesia’s terroir. With an emphasis on experimental processing, small-batch roasting, and rigorous quality control, we continuously push the boundaries of flavor and innovation. To support this vision, we built the Homemade Indonesia Beans App, offering tools like bidding, futures contracts, QC certificates, and free warehousing—all designed to simplify the coffee trade for both farmers and buyers.
Our consumer-facing roastery and café, Seven Sumatra Beans, serves as a living showcase of this journey—where the story of farm-to-cup is experienced daily through unique brews and curated coffee experiences. With a capacity of nearly 50 tons per month, operations in Medan, and an expanding international footprint including Japan, we are proud to represent the spirit of Indonesian coffee on the global stage. Homemade Indonesia is more than a marketplace—it’s a movement to bring farmers, roasters, and coffee lovers closer together, one cup at a time.
Our Story
Welcome to Homemade Indonesia, where passion for Indonesia’s rich heritage and a commitment to empowering small businesses come together. What started as a dream to uplift local markets has now evolved into a dynamic movement — culminating in the launch of Indonesia’s first Green Coffee Bean Marketplace, connecting coffee farmers from across the archipelago to Indonesia first, and the world next.
Our Humble Beginnings
Homemade Indonesia was founded in 2020, in the heart of Sumatra. We began by building a technological platform that strengthened ties with traditional market sellers, helping deliver the best local food products directly to customers. Our focus on quality, transparency, and genuine relationships quickly earned the trust and loyalty of the communities we served.
A Commitment to Quality and SustainabilityFrom day one, we believed that exceptional products start with exceptional practices. We partnered with small businesses and farmers who shared our vision for fair trade, quality, and sustainability. By ensuring ethical sourcing and investing in local communities, we laid the foundation for long-term success — not just for Homemade Indonesia, but for everyone we touched along the way.
Expanding Our Horizons
Fueled by our success, we saw new opportunities. Venturing into coffee, we acquired a small farm and invested in world-class roasting and quality control processes. Our signature blends, crafted with innovative roasting techniques, celebrated the unique flavors of Indonesia’s diverse terroirs.
We connected with global partners, sharing the spirit of Indonesian coffee with a worldwide audience, while never losing sight of our roots.
Launching the First Green Coffee Bean MarketplaceToday, we are proud to mark a new chapter in our journey — the launch of Indonesia’s first Green Coffee Bean Marketplace. This platform is designed to bridge the gap between Indonesian coffee farmers and buyers within Indonesia and beyond. By empowering farmers to directly showcase their green beans, we bring greater transparency, fairer prices, and new opportunities for growth.
Our marketplace is more than just a platform — it's a movement to celebrate the hard work of our farmers, to champion Indonesian coffee on the global stage, and to build a future where local excellence meets global appreciation.
Staying True to Our Roots
Even as we reach new heights, we remain deeply rooted in our commitment to community, sustainability, and quality. We continue to invest in local farmers, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and foster genuine relationships that honor Indonesia’s rich coffee heritage.
The Future of Homemade Indonesia
Looking ahead, we envision a vibrant, connected coffee ecosystem where Indonesian farmers thrive and coffee lovers worldwide discover the unique flavors of our archipelago. Through innovation, education, and empowerment, we are building a future where every cup of coffee tells a story — a story of dedication, passion, and unity.
ConclusionAt Homemade Indonesia, our journey from local food trading to launching the nation’s first Green Coffee Bean Marketplace is a testament to our resilience, passion, and the power of community. We invite you to join us as we continue to grow, connect, and share the extraordinary flavors of Indonesia — one bean, one cup, and one story at a time.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to the future — bright, flavorful, and full of promise.Homemade Indonesia Farm & Processing Center
Our own farm functions as a benchmark plot and innovation site, where cultivation practices, harvest standards, and experimental processes are developed and refined. At the same time, partner farmers deliver cherries that meet clearly defined criteria for ripeness, cleanliness, and varietal integrity. These cherries are then processed centrally at our facility under the same strict protocols—ensuring consistency, traceability, and flavor clarity across all lots.
By combining in-house farming with community sourcing, Homemade Indonesia Farm & Processing Center creates a scalable yet responsible system: one that supports farmer livelihoods, encourages knowledge transfer, and enables the production of distinctive Gayo coffees that reflect both terroir and careful post-harvest craftsmanship.
Homemade Indonesia Farm & Processing Center operates a hybrid model: we manage a small, dedicated farm while also sourcing coffee cherries from trusted neighboring farmers across the Gayo highlands. This approach allows us to maintain hands-on control over quality while empowering local smallholders to participate in higher-value specialty markets.

Our Journey: From Medan to Jakarta
It All Began in Medan — November 7, 2024
Seven Sumatra Beans was born in the heart of Medan — a city deeply connected to the land and heritage of Sumatra coffee. From day one, our mission has been clear: to showcase the beauty and complexity of Indonesian specialty coffee, starting with the rich volcanic soils of Sumatra. Our first roastery and café opened its doors on 7 November 2024, bringing together passionate baristas, local farmers, and coffee lovers under one roof. It became more than a café — it became a place where conversations brewed as deeply as our coffee. Here, we celebrated every step of the journey: from the farmer’s hard work in Gayo, Mandheling, and Lintong, to the careful roast profiles that reveal each bean’s unique character. Expanding the Sumatra Legacy — Jakarta, November 7, 2025
Exactly one year later, on 7 November 2025, we brought that same spirit and story to the capital — Jakarta.
Our expansion to Tanjung Duren, Jakarta Barat, marks a new chapter in connecting Indonesia’s coffee origins with its modern urban coffee culture. What began as a humble roastery in Medan has now grown into a symbol of Sumatra’s coffee excellence in the capital city. From the first roast in Medan to our new home in Jakarta, every cup we serve tells the same story — of dedication, of authenticity, and of the deep roots of Sumatra coffee. Same Passion. New Home.
Seven Sumatra Beans Jakarta is not just another branch — it’s the continuation of our purpose. Here, we roast, brew, and share the same Sumatra beans that started it all, but now closer to coffee lovers in the city. We’re proud to bridge the journey of Indonesian coffee — from the farms of Sumatra to the cafés of Jakarta — one cup at a time.
7 November will always be our day — the day our story began, and the day we keep it alive in every roast.
