Joining our virtual kitchen this week is Chef Matteo Meacci. @meateo Together we will bring you, ‘MIE TRUFFLE CARBONARA with SMOKED SALMON’ 🇮🇹🇮🇩 , an Italian classic pasta dish with Indonesian twist. Born in Lucca (Tuscany, Italy) in 1980, Matteo Meacci started his culinary career in 2002, when he graduated at the hospitality school in Montecatini with the highest score. He worked in several restaurants and catering companies in Tuscany until 2011, when he decided to move to Indonesia for a new chapter. He was the Executive Chef of the newly opened ‘Ocha & Bella’ in Jakarta, he would later on move to Singapore as Executive Chef of an Italian Fine Dining Restaurant before moving back to Indonesia, first leading the kitchen of ‘De Luca’ in Jakarta and then as Executive Chef of ‘Katamaran Resort’ in Lombok. After 3 years as Corporate Executive Chef in ‘Aryaduta’ hotel group, where he relaunched the famous italian restaurant ‘Ambiente’, Matteo moved to Surabaya to start his own company. Here he opened ‘The Gentlepig’ and ‘Ciccia’, a cozy and casual Italian restaurant in the heart of Surabaya in 2021. He is currently working to create new concepts with his company for 2022.
